About
“As in all projects in which you immerse yourself deeply, you get to discover much more than you expect.” (Stephen Shore)
This is the strong driving force that energizes me to learn and find more of the unexpected. I´ll be out there, looking for more surprises, trying to create depth.
The projects can be very varied. Preferable, I like to document subject matters that are disappearing through cultural changes, technology, economics or climate. Photography can immortalize parts of life, help them being remembered.Photography allows me to satisfy my wanderlust by exploring diverse cultures, landscapes and industries before they disappear. It is my excuse to travel the world, my tool for preserving memories, and my avenue for artistic exploration.
For me, photography is both documentary and artistic. Fine Art Photography is not just about taking artistic images but also about converting photographs into a work of art. Photography is my foundation, but I see it as just the beginning. Photographs can be raw material rather than the final product. By blending it with other materials and integrating it into mixed media, I want a photograph to feel as tactile as a painting or sculpture. The line between what is seen and what is felt gets blurred.
In any case, I first need good photographs by following the motto: “F 8 and be there.” (Bob Krist).
So be there and bear with me.
